As I have been more involved with self-help and growing spiritually I have been drawn to knowing more about what astrological alignment was like during my time of birth. Given the alignment impacts me today, I figured it wouldn’t hurt to do a little research to what the sun and moon position mean to my personal path. Most of us know our sun position, and know about our sun sign. I found some valuable information from reading about my sun sign. What I did not know much about, was my moon sign. I was intrigued to find out about the moon and how it’s position also has influences on who we are. Knowing how the sun and moon was positioned during our birth helps to create more of a personal understanding of our strengths and weaknesses. What I learned about my sun sign Pisces:
She is compassionate and sentimental. She likes isolated occupations: administration, archives, history. Spirit of self-sacrifice.
Weaknesses: tendency to be led astray, lack of experience or inability to apply experience practically. Lethargy, over-sensitivity and emotionalism.
What I learned about my moon sign Cancer:
She is likeable and sociable. Very sensitive to environmental conditions and surroundings. She likes home, habits, comfort and her little world. Very caring and protective of loved ones.
Weaknesses: subject to indolence, inertia. She is impressionable and too sensitive. Family problems.

Fall has to be one of my favorite times of the year. I love the smell of roasting chile, ristras, balloons flying high, pumpkins, and spice filled drinks. New Mexico has beyond perfect weather to enjoy this transitional season.
1. The Greek Fest
If you love good food, sweets, music and entertainment this is a must see. The chicken dinner is delicious. I would also suggest trying the potatoes, and spanakopita. For dessert the Greek style donuts (loukoumades) are to die for. I also always have to get a Greek coffee!
2. The Ballon Fiesta
My favorite time to go is for the morning ascension. The sun rising and the balloons lifting off brings so much excitement! For food I like to get a famous Blakes burrito with an orange juice.
The Rio Grande Farms puts together different themes every year. This year they have the Color Maze. There are day events and night. We opted for going at night. It was a super fun! You get a lantern at the beginning and then scavenger hunt to find the different colors in the maze. It took us about 1 hour to complete. If you are interested in going for the night maze I would suggeugettinf there at 6:30/7 to enjoy the beautiful sunset.
4. Pumpkin Everything
Going to Trader Joe’s and getting pumpkin everything is always a good time. I am obsessed with the pumpkin cookie butter, yogurt, and the pumpkin body butter.
Staying in and watching old scary movies is such a blast. On my list this year is Young Frankinstine and Bride of Frankinstine.

Hello 32! What does that mean? That means that I can no longer get away with wearing heels everyday, sigh… But, on the plus I have found shopping for flats to be quite enjoyable and flats have offered a little new spice to my wardrobe. We’re headed back to school so I took this as a perfect opportunity to add a few new pairs to my collection.

I have been making smoothies like a mad woman this summer. I LOVE treating myself and my hubby with something that we enjoy and is good for us. I have found a perfect “base” to my smoothie and then I add whatever I’m in the mood for. Here are the things you are going to need to get your smoothie game on point.
1 1/4 cup Water (filtered) and a handful of ice
1/2 cup Yogurt (Greek Gods in “honey” is bomb)
1 scoop Whey Protein (I buy the bulk from Sprouts)
-Strawberry/ Banana: 7 strawberries and 1 1/2 banana (below)
-Peanut Butter/ Banana: 1 large scoop pb and 1 1/2 banana (below)
– Pineapple/ Banana/ Coconut: 1 cup pineapple, 1 1/2 banana, 2 spoons of coconut (below)
So, as you can see once you get the base then the magic is all yours! Be creative, have fun! With all these recipes it makes 2- one for me and one for the hubs. He loves all of them but the Peanut Butter/Banana is his fav (and I’d have to agree–it’s amazing).

For those of you that have been following my blog for awhile know that working out is part of my daily routine. My typical day consists of me getting up around 5:50 am and hitting the mat. HIIT is my preferred morning workout routine. I have really been enjoying the Tone It Up You Tube workouts. Typically my workouts on Monday, Wednesday and Friday’s are more cardio focused (HIIT). On Tuesdays and Thursday’s I mix in toning specific areas.
Every evening for the past 3 months my husband and I have been loving finishing our evening with yoga. For years I have enjoyed practicing yoga but never before at this level. Having a daily practice has been such a game changer. I have seen improvements in my workout performance, tennis practice, mental clarity, and my sleeping routine. Yoga reminds to slow down, take a deep breath and enjoy every glorious moment. If you are in search of a great teacher I strongly suggest Yoga With Adriene on You Tube. Having a home practice is ideal because you choose your own hours, and it’s free.
Now to make any workout feel successful I want to feel good while looking good. I rounded up a typical outfit I would wear for HIIT or Yoga.

I always carry around things to keep my hair, skin, and body feeling fresh. So, a travel deodorant, dry shampoo, and face spray is always in my workout bag. And to protect my eyes when I workout outdoors sunnies with good protection are a must!
